Yes, treatments at Pêche Skin Clinic are always administered by a qualified medical professional, hence Dermal Fillers are considered safe. Since Dermal FIllers are injected below the skin's surface, it typically does not cause irritation or allergic reactions related to skin type. Before the treatment our experts always carefully discuss any medical conditions with you, including pregnancy and nursing, allergies and skin infections.
The effect depends on the type of filler in combination with your unique skin profile. However, we typically observe the following effects:
- Hyaluronic acid fillers typically last 6 to 18 months,
- Calcium hydroxylapatite fillers last about 12 months,
- Poly-L-lactic acid fillers stimulate collagen production and can last up to 2 years
Dermal fillers add volume to the skin, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance facial contours by physically filling in areas under the skin. Botox works by blocking nerve signals in the muscles where it is injected, temporarily paralyzing or weakening the muscles. This reduces the appearance of dynamic wrinkles (caused by muscle movement).
Results are usually visible immediately after the treatment as the treated area will swell. Don't worry if it swells more than expected; the swelling will go down, leaving you with the results you desire in no more than 2 weeks.
Dermal Filler treatments are generally not considered painful. The feeling is best described as a quick pinch, as the needles we use are very fine and the process is quick. If desired, we can apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area before injection.
Avoid alcohol consumption the night before your appointment. Also try to avoid taking aspirins or ibuprofen for 1 week before your treatment to help reduce bruising. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding we do not recommend this treatment.
Dermal Filler treatments have minimal downtime. You might experience some mild side effects, such as temporary swelling, bruising or redness at the injected area for up to 7 days after your treatment. This is completely normal and will begin to subside a few days after treatment, with full results appearing within 2 weeks. To reduce discomfort from bruising or swelling we recommend cooling (ice packs), arnica or Tylenol, but avoid ibuprofen as it would increase the risk of bruising. We recommend to avoid exercise and other activities that make you sweat, for 24 hours after treatment.
